I get confused. I remember everything. I remember too much, and... some of it's made up, and... some of it can't be quantified, and... there's secrets.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

megan, I have at least one and maybe two OTA antennae that do me no good because there is just nothing to pick up here (well, there is one independent station that shows random old movies with a LOT of local commercials, but that's it). Let me know if you want to give it/them a try.

-t, I would love to try them out. Much of what I want to watch is on Hulu/Netflix so it didn't seem worth buying one only to find there's interference or something.

I'll let you know when I lay my hands on them (I stashed them somewhere when they didn't get any channels) and we can figure out then how best to get them to you.

I appreciate it! No rush, for sure.

Hey. New board.

I have found that Hulu + CBS.com is better for me than a DVR anyway. I suppose I could possibly drop Hulu if I had it, but it would take many years of Hulu to pay for this (and the hard drive) and I watch some Hulu things that aren't OTA anyway.

I was shopping like mad for something like that about 2 years ago and it wasn't available. Almost built a MythTV to do it, but got price-point burn. Now that it is available, I no longer want it. I've adjusted to the streaming options exclusively and see no need to go back.

I'm pretty much addicted to Hulu+ at this point, although I don't love the updates to the queue layout.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Nothing I've ever watched via a streaming service has matched the image quality of broadcast TV, so I prefer a DVR.

Yeah, my standards for image quality are basically "Can I see it?" so really the Smart TV is like gravy on top of gravy for everything.(Although I did notice an improvement when cable upgrades made me hook up the line directly to the TV rather than through the DVR/DVD player.)

Hey. New board.

Yeah, for normal garden variety TV, I'm fine with medium-good quality.

Compassionately intolerant

Yeah, my standards for image quality are basically "Can I see it?"

This is me. But, apparently, much worse than even I realized. It came to light when I tried to share something with a friend and he ran from the room.

Sigh. I'm never actually surprised when I discover how low my standards really are.
