You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What does text message vibration bleed over into other than vibrating for text messages? I only vibrate for calls. Which might explain why I suck so much at returning texts.

Hmm. On that note, my Android phone used to vibrate for texts on silent, and does so no longer. I thought I had accidentally flipped a setting somewhere, but now I suspect it happened on my last OS update. Not that it bothers me at all, but now I too often don't notice texts for several hours.

Hey. New board.

So it appears that in older versions of Android, there was a universal "vibrate on notifications" setting that got turned on and off through the general Android settings. In Jelly Bean, whether or not a specific app vibrates on notifications is controlled by the app, not a system-wide setting. I see why they did this, but it's not well implemented; if vibration-on-notification is enabled for an app, it is enabled in all sound profiles, at least for most apps.

Solution: no good general one that I can find - you could probably create something with Tasker that would work, but if you aren't already a tasker user that's annoying. The best solution for you in particular might be to install a different SMS app. I liked GO SMS Pro a lot back when I actually used normal text messaging, and it has the ability to vibrate only in vibration mode, which seems to work fine at least on my Note II.

Hey. New board.

Alternative: Install this app [link] which allows you to set up custom vibrations for various contacts, and set in which modes those vibrations will happen. It's overkill for your needs but might allow you to set a default vibration for ALL contacts that only vibrates on vibrate mode.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Gris, thank you!! The Good Vibrations app totally worked. The default is to vibrate for all contacts, and now, hell, I can even set different vibrations for people if I want to. Thanks!! I really didn't want to switch to another messaging app because that's annoying.

Hey. New board.

Does the stock messaging app have a pop up quick reply now? That was the main reason I used go SMS in the past.

No, you still go to the app to reply.

Hey. New board.

Ah. You might want to give go SMS a try anyway then. Trust me the quick reply is a pretty awesome feature. I finally found a client that offers it for Google voice texts and I'm in love.

Is there a free Microsoft Publisher program that I can dl and then access a document made with it with the official Publisher? I clicked a link that said it was free, and then it asked me for a registry key, so I don't know what the heck is going on.

I want to make a mock up of a brochure, but might need to do it at home. Just a simple three fold on a standard 8.5x11 that I edit further at work.
