I'm not sure; in which part?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Macs do get viruses.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

There are apps for iPad virus protection if you are concerned about that, Toddson, I think free or cheap. I dont know about firewalls or data plans, I'm strictly wifi and mostly am on my home network so I rely on its security.

I heart my iPad mini, btw, I find the size very convenient. Typing on it right now AIFG, in fact.

The application sandboxing built into iOS is a more effective virus protection than anything you can buy. I wouldn't spend any money on any software claiming to protect you from iPad or iPhone viruses. I wouldn't bother installing any free ones, either, but unlike Mac anti-virus software at least they can't cause more trouble than they prevent.

There's no real need for a firewall on iOS, which is good since there's no way to implement a firewall with the SDK available for iOS.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

I actually own CS2, but I haven't been able to get it to work well since I moved from Tiger to Snow Leopard. So all the hubbub about getting it free reminds me to ask: any ideas about whether it's even possible to get the darn thing to run on Mac OS 10.6.8?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Toddson,

What the others said about ipad mini. Don't bother about virus protection. Not needed at all unless you jailbreak - which I have never done.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have a continuing problem with iPhone and calendar synch that I cannot find help for. I am synching my outlook exchange calendar. I am a delgate for 2 people. When I recieve meeting requests on my iPhone for them, they appear to be for me. I would ignore this and just process them on the computer, but they get added to the calendar on the phone and so when I look at my day, it looks like I have all these meetings, rendering the iPhone useless for reminding me about my meetings.

Even search terms to look for this problem would be helpful. I get a lot of answers for people who are the boss, but none from the assistants point of view.

According to various comments at the site that was touting the free download, you need to use a MacOs that can run the powerpc emulator Rosetta. Snow Leopard has this, but it doesn't install by default. Rosetta is neither included nor supported in Mac OS X v10.7 "Lion" or later.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Thanks for the advice!

As to a "firewall" I was mostly concerned with security issues for things like buying an app using WiFi.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You can only buy apps from the one place for an iPad, and that's got some serious lockdown.
