Don't you just love this party? Everything's so fancy, and there's some kind of hot cheese over there.

Our wings are not tired

Of course! Ask away. I have upgraded two of my machines to Pro Tools 10 and will be recording directly to Pro Tools for a film for most of the next 2.5 weeks.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Great, thank you! The studio where he's recording next week is Pro Tools, of course, so he's hoping to do some watching and learning when he's not tracking himself.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Randomly enough, one of the nurses this morning asked me for Android tablet shopping advice, By the time we'd noodled through what he was looking for, and what he liked, I think t it was the latest Transformer for him.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Is this worth it?

Download Adobe Creative Suite 2, Including Photoshop and Illustrator, for Free

Windows/Mac: If you're not in need of the latest and greatest Adobe software, the company is currently offering the 2005 version of its Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more, for free.

To get the free downloads, you need a free Adobe Member account. Once you sign up (the member application page is a bit slow this morning) you can download the entire suite or individual applications for free.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Is this worth it?

It's free. Why not? What graphics software are you currently using? I've got CS5, so this isn't useful to me, but I don't think that older version is so significantly out of date.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am currently using CS2, as my department operates on an "if it aint broke, don't fix it" model, and I really don't do too much

The Gimp.

Cool. I think I'll give it a try.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

OK, I've got this really generous - $300! - gift card for the Apple Store and I've sort of decided to get an iPad mini.

But I have questions. I've only ever used Windows machines; what's the situation with virus protection and firewall protection with an iPad (mini)? And I do have a Verizon account for WiFi for my laptop and I'm wondering if I could use the same account for an iPad.

Anyone have any advice?

Trust my rage

Toddson, macs don't have virus issues. So I don't think there's anything to do. Do you plan on plugging it in to your windows machine? Perhaps that could cause an issue but I don't think so.

The iPad will prompt you to set up a 4G data plan if you want. You don't need that if you are doing wifi only (if I under stood the question correctly).

You mean iPad, Stephanie?
