Is the story that private FB messages from before 2009 now appear on your timeline accurate? That seems way extreme, even for them.
Of course, looking at their explanation about email addresses, here: [link] they're...ballsy to say the least.
”This is not a change to our privacy policy, but rather a change to a visibility setting.”
Oh, the loopholes we can explore with that statement.
Consuela, upgrading to 4GB might help.

ita, yes, it's true about the FB messages. I just posted about it on FB. When I checked to see if it was real, I was horrified to see that it was (a friend was going through a divorce in 2009 and her anguished FB messages to me were on my wall). BUT: the only thing I am unsure of is whether they were appearing on my wall to everyone, or to just me (I was logged in as myself, of course). I say that, because I went to that same friend's public wall right away to see if my corresponding private messages about her divorce at that time actually showed up on her wall. And I didn't see the messages I had sent her.
This is possibly a completely stupid question but can I use iCloud to back up the files on my Mac? It kinda seems like I should be able to but, if so, the interface is impenetrable. And it's making me feel like an idiot. Am I just expecting iCloud to be something it's not?
Java, that is my understanding. You can see a bunch of private stuff in your timeline but it is only visible to you. I logged in as CJ and couldn't see the private messages on my timeline. (while he is in school, I get all this passwords).
Yeah, it's a weird glitch. But when I was checking my friend's old wall to look for my messages, I did see a few from other friends of hers that looked suspiciously private in nature. But people use FB different ways, and they could have just been quite personal-sounding public wall messages.
lisah,
what kind of files are you interested in backing up?
so, why not dropbox for your needs?
Is that what dropbox is for? I've only heard it being used to transfer files?
