"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

my ipad did not take that long. I have a 16GB, so I am not sure if that made a difference. The iphone however took awhile. I had backed up prior to the release of ios5, so that did not pose a problem for me.

The main problem I had with both was during the initial restore when I think it had to call to the mothership and apparently God and everyone was updating at the same time. I also had a problem at the restore part. It took me a few tries to get that working.

I like a lot about ios5, but there are a few things I do not like.

Oh, and I filled up Icloud like right away. I had to go in and delete some apps from Icloud.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

this is one of the many reasons i don't do the updates as soon as they're available.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I left my iPhone connected last night so it could update while I was asleep, but when I looked this morning it had still only downloaded. Probably it was waiting for me to click OK to something and timed out.

My iTunes is refusing to recognize my network connection. When I try to go to the iTunes store, update my iPhone, or even go to help, I get the following error -

"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes (Store/Help/Update). The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again".

I have rebooted, bounced my router, downloaded the most current version of iTunes... I'm out of ideas.

The status is NOT quo.

Suzi, fwiw, I was having those issues too, but the second time I plugged the iPhone in I told it to download only and not update, and now it’s working fine. I told it to update after it had downloaded.

How did you get to where you could download? I can't even look at the iTunes store or do anything that requires iTunes to go through the internet.

Huh. Sorry, Suzi, mine saw the store once I’d ejected the phone and started over again.

...May the iForce be with you?

Thanks le nub. It is downloading now. I still want to figure out why iTunes can't see my network connection. But one step at a time, right?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I can't even look at the iTunes store or do anything that requires iTunes to go through the internet.

It took me a couple of tries. I think they are experiencing much volume.

I updated my phone tonight only because I can now personalize my text tone. So it was worth the wait. I am a simple girl with simple needs.
