Has anyone successfully done the iCloud set-up yet? I'm trying to but I keep getting told it is unavailable, even though the status page says it is up.
And relatedly, I don't usually use Safari but i tried just now. There is no place to type the address? How di I tell it where I want to go?
yes. but I did icloud on my phone and ipad. I have not tried it for the mac. the servers are getting hammered, so that might be part of any problems you are experiencing.
it seems to be working now. I still can't use Safari.
It's funny - my homepage is apple.com. So I have Steve Jobs looking at me as I'm fumbling around trying to find the stupid address bar. And thinking that he probably thought it was better without it up there and that was part of his whole thing - knowing what to simplify even when the consumer initially resists the simplification.
I did it, but now I've got duplicates for all of my calendar events.
I have been stuck all day on upgrading devices to the new iOS. So frustrating.
I just saw that. Sad. Pouring out a semicolon now.
So, there is now a website on things that Siri (apple's new voice client on the 4s) says.

dear jeebus, the process to update my iPad. So I started it 3 times, but the back up process was taking FOREVER. Like 90 minutes, and barely a sliver of progress bar completed. For the third time, I first sync'd and removed all video and audio. The last attempt started about 11:45. The iTunes panel indicated the last back up was finished at 1:11am. I woke up 10 min ago (laptop still on lap, in recliner chair) to see the final minutes of the restore. Now the iPad looks like it's ready to go, but iTunes is saying "restoring iPad apps", so I don't dare disconnect. Dude. SIX HOURS. I realize it's a major OS update. And the fact it's free is real cool. But 6 hours!?
