Compassionately intolerant

Has anyone had any luck selling a domain name?

I've held on to one for 10 years and must now come to peace with the fact that I will never do anything with it. It expires in a couple of months and it seems only commonsensical to at least try to shift it.

It's currently registered at godaddy and they have an in-house auction function (of course...they are the godzilla of domains) but I'm wondering if that would be the best choice. Not to mention, it's a paid service...though not expensive.

Any success/cautionary tales?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've never even thought to bother. I just let mine expire. Huh. I wonder if that was a waste.

A domain name is pretty cheap though I believe going up slightly in July. When owners release really cool ones can they get a lot more than the price of a new domain? How much more?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Is there any way to set up filters for tweets on the Twitter main page? That's where I access it.

(I really wish they'd called it something less silly than Twitter.)

iPhone 4: Reserved!

Kind of sad that they're only available in black at the launch. I also accidentally selected the crowded Apple store for pick-up, which means that not only will I have to claw my way through a crowd of my fellow nerds, but also a whole bunch of tourists in order to get my shiny new toy.

Apple also released a new Mac Mini today: [link] Still no BluRay.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Apple and AT&T are both giving me error messages. Bah.

[ARGH. At this rate it'll be faster to wait until the damn thing is in stores.]

But it does seem to have HDMI, which would make it a lot easier to connect to your TV and make an entertainment center out of it. Very tempting.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Yup, HDMI, and an SD slot in the back.

Plus? Direct AC connection, the converter is inside now.

The unit draws only 10 watts.

It also comes with 2 GB RAM and has an access door to upgrade RAM on the bottom. RAM capacity at this time is 8GB.

Didn't realize the no power brick. Very interesting. That thing was almost as big as the computer. So tempting. Damn. Why did I have to move? I can't afford all these toys at once. New Mini. New iPhone. New Xbox. Guest bedroom furniture. Humbug I say.
