Connie, I have this Vizio [link] which I got after a lot of research. I've had it about a year, and it's been great.

Connie, I have this Vizio
I have the 1080 version of that on my desk right now. It was our conductor monitor (a video feed of the conductor so the actors could see her). Now that the musical is done, it sits on my desk. It's HUGE close up. Seems ok so far, but it's been in place all of 1 day. Worked fine for 6 weeks in the show.

I seem to recall one reviewer saying, in smaller screens (under 50ish inches), that the picture quality differences were minor, that 1080 wasn't needed, and purchase decision should be more on inputs needed, and the user interface (menus and remote). That was a few years ago. Prices were a lot higher then. Not sure if that still holds water.

Many reviewers still say that there's no significant difference at 37" and below.

Kindle question: Mom has one, but no computer worth speaking of. I don't have one, but do have computers. I have the details to her account online. Can I send her kindle things from Project Guttenberg/plain text types of things with no cost to her? Or can that only be done by connecting the kindle to a computer locally? Trying to be a good son, remotely.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

No. If you use her kindle address that goes over the air, it is something like .10 a MB. Cheap, but not free.

If you use her kindle free email address, it is free, but you have to connect it to a computer to download the information.

thanks for the info le nubian. I was hoping there was a way I could give her stuff remotely. It looks like it would charge her credit card, and she doesn't make enough. Although, Alice In Wonderland from Project Gutenberg plain text is only 163 kb, so that would still be cheaper than buying a new book.
