The same on my XP box, either via one paid piece of software, and several free pieces of software all of which add "print to pdf" as additional printers. However what would genuinely be useful to be is something that rather than printing a web page or sending it to a pdf, would capture a web site - including urls linked on the web page, and then urls linked on those urls. That would be tricky to write. The software would have to avoid including pages that are on other servers, since these are probably external links. (Maybe it would have to have the option of choosing external servers that are OK.) Also it would have avoid getting caught in endless loops by not capturing a page more than once. Umm and I'm not sure such a server would deal with dynamic content. Probably can be done. Heck, maybe I should google and see if it has BEEN done.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Probably can be done.
Adobe Acrobat Professional does it.
As, after doing does Teleport Pro, and a bunch of software on the web. It looks like one should ask permission before using any of these though, because apparently downloading an entire website causes a spike in traffic.

Stands to reason.
Recommendations for places to get public domain and less-expensive e-books or recommendations for books per se?
Apologies for the delay -- I posted just before leaving the office. She's looking for places to get public domain books.
Fred Pete,
I think your suggestions are the best places to start. I have a Kindle, and there are quite a few good Kindle specific blogs that also list free Kindle books.
Your friend may want to spend a bit of time with google to look for Nook specific blogs. I am pissed, btw, that ebooks I purchased at B&N can't be read on the Kindle. These bookstores need to get together and let me read the content on multiple devices. It is such an unnecessary pain in the ass.
Thanks, le nubian. I"ll pass word on.
I understand Apple is coming out with an e-reader soon. I'll probably get myself an e-reader as a Christmas present. (My deadline is early next March -- I want to load it up before a major vacation.)
Do you think Apple's announcement will be an ereader? I think it will be a device that does a whole lot of things.
According to LifeHacker, the iTablet is confirmed. But I just read the headline, so I don't really know the whole thing.
I'm expecting it to basically be the iTouch, if someone grabbed the corner and enlarged it (this is how I think of enlarging and shrinking things. Sometimes I make the hand motions.)
The Apple tablet is confirmed - it's being announced Jan 27th.
What I know for sure is that it's going to run the iPhone OS and the content is going to lean heavily towards "print" products with lots of embedded multimedia. So in theory it will be better for e-magazines than the Kindle or Nook, and will also play movies & TV. (And will run any app that runs now on the iPhone or iPod Touch.)
Rumor is that it will cost close to $1000, so I have a hard time believing it's going to be anything other than a niche luxury device like the Macbook Air.
