Drew didn't actually leave anything on his iDisk.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
So Drew was screwing with you, huh?
Uh-oh.
Oh, he sent me an email about it, so it's no problem. I just need to swing by the studio to grab what I need.
I'm home if you want to say hi.
I don't know exactly when I'll be stopping by. I'm in tech until like midnight or something.
Oh...well in that case, just wave as you drive past. I'll hopefully be in bed.
My mom, who loves me very very much, is making noises about buying me a netbook for my upcoming birthday. She had a good rec for MIS WIND or some variety with 6 cell battery, 2.6 lbs. I know next to nothing about netbooks, as i've been burying my head in the sand for years given my lack of finances to buy such things for myself. But since Mommy is willing to shell out...i know that i like the idea of lightweight. Um, what other things should i be looking for in a netbook? Anyone have rec's? Macbook air is right out, we're more in the $300-500 ranger here ;)
I've got my eye on a Asus Eee 1000HE or this newer one. I like the battery life since I see using it only places were there isn't a place to plug-in.
I don't have first hand experience with any though.
I want to wait until Windows 7 is out first and get it with that instead of XP Home.
I'm rather liking Windows 7 on my desktop.
What Gud linked to is what I just bought, except I got the less-new one, with the 6 hours battery life instead of 10, or whatever.
I'm going to take it on my trip tomorrow and test it in actual traveling situation. We shall see. But so far in "too lazy to go get my bigger laptop from another room in the house" it's been entirely workable for my rather light web use.
