I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

I am devastated by Y: the Last Man. I just can't believe it. I want to see Yorick staring into a snow globe in the last issue; it's the only way I can accept that last page.

I don't think I can accept it. I'm just hoping they take it back. For once in my life I will be perfectly happy to accept the 'it was all a dream' defence.

"Remember the words of the poet: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the road less traveled by and they CANCELLED MY FRIKKIN' SHOW. I totally shoulda took the road that had all those people on it. Damn." Joss Whedon (on Bronzebeta.com)

Just diving in here, folks. I've been thinking about Joss' recycling of actors: Jasmine/Zoe, Caleb/Mal, Holden/Heart of Gold/Betrayer of Fred guy, etc. I'd really like to hear what people think of how that works. For instance, I was suspicious of Mal at first because I couldn't get over Caleb.... If anyone wants to contemplate this and send me feedback at whedongeek@yahoo.com, it'd be great. Or we could talk here.... Thanks!

P.S. I love the way Joss resolved the Buffy and the Immortal yuck from Angel in season 8/comic....

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

We had a hell of a good time playing the Order of the Stick game last night. It was more character driven than Muchkin but easier to grasp than Arkham Horror.

I want to play!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I was suspicious of Mal at first because I couldn't get over Caleb

so very much this. I think I was halfway through Train Job before I finally decided I could trust the guy.

I love the way Joss resolved the Buffy and the Immortal yuck

I laughed out loud in line at the airport.

I want to play!

Are you in Los Angeles? If I get my way we'll be playing again on Thursday. If I don't get my way it'll either be the Firefly rpg or a Forgotten Realms module (Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde) that I've been running.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Um, didn't Mal come before Caleb?

Art Crawl!!!

For those of us who watched Firefly on Fox.

Yes Mal came before Caleb but some of us came at the Whedonverse ass-backwards.

In real air time, yes, but if you watched in some real-time/DVD combo way, not so much.

I mean, I didn't, but I can see how it might happen.

Okay, but there are limits to what Joss can be called to account for.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I think what happened was that Joss gave Nathan and Gina short-term roles on Buffy and Angel because at the time he was still trying to find a home for Firefly, and this was a way of letting his actors make a living while "their" series was in limbo, and not letting them wander off to other jobs until the final word came.
