I suspect she's another slayer. One we meet at the beginning of this particular arc.
I found the first cover more recognizable for Buffy and Faith. It could be because the same artist has done her enough I recognize the style. I didn't like the Faith on the second cover at all.

Ha! GF, who is an avid comic art collector, also took issue with the word 'sketch.' She made mouth noises every time they said it in the clip.
