Congratulations to the class of 1999. You all proved more or less adequate.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

There are a number of contenders to the title.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh. We were just watching Little Shop this morning.

Description contains many spoilers. If you don't want to know, know this - the cover looks the business.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm confused. Is issue one out already? If not, is it common practice that they'd have the cover for two ready ahead of time?

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Issue #1 comes out in March, and yeah, that's close enough for them to have the second cover done. Most comic distributers are beginning their solicitations for about then.

What is even happening?

The cover of issue two is going to do nothing to stop me from thinking of Peter Petrelli on Heroes as Not!Xander. *

I emailed my local comic shop, because they aren't on Dark Horse's list of shops, to make sure they are going to be carrying the series. I'd rather shop local-indy when I can. They will carry it. I ended up reserving two copies (one to read, one to pat and call my precious). They will e-mail me when it arrives.

Is this my first official "pull"?

How far are you from Million Year Picnic in Harvard Square, Cindy?

What is even happening?

It's probably only 10 or 15 miles, Tom, but it's a painful 10 or 15 miles. We have an indy shop, right in town, less than a mile away. The closest listed dealers (per Dark Horse) were all Newbury Comics shops. If my local didn't carry Buffy, I'd probably go to one of them. My principles for such things are flexible.

I love the name, though. Million Year Picnic.
