What is even happening?

It's probably only 10 or 15 miles, Tom, but it's a painful 10 or 15 miles. We have an indy shop, right in town, less than a mile away. The closest listed dealers (per Dark Horse) were all Newbury Comics shops. If my local didn't carry Buffy, I'd probably go to one of them. My principles for such things are flexible.

I love the name, though. Million Year Picnic.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I don't HAVE a local shop. It closed. ::pout:: I subscribed at TFAW. They better mail on time.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's where I did all my comic shopping when I lived in Cambridge. I'd be there on Thursday night after work with the other geeks when they opened up the boxes. That's where I first read Love and Rockets #3 and 4, and made them go dig around in their warehouse so I could get #1 and 2.

Newbury Comics is where I got my George of the Jungle t-shirt, and my Husker Du single of "8 Miles High."

Newbury is a chain now (I don't know if it always was), so there are ones within driving distance (and convenient parking) -- ones that don't involve navigating the streets of Cambridge (and Somerville and/or Arlington, depending on my route). I like my local indy shop. Ben gets Yu-Gi-Oh and sports cards there, and I bought Fray there. They have an enormous collection of old stuff, too.

Despite the name, the amount of comics they have may vary by location. I'd expect the in Boston/Cambridge stores to have the Buffy comic, but I'm not so sure about further out of the Hub; they've been more of a music store (and lately general pop-culture geegaws) for yoinks now.

What is even happening?

The Dark Horse website had a store locator that included both non-Newbury shops, and Newbury shops in the suburbs.

Man, Jo Chen is great at making covers that I want to frame.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Really? He looks pretty healthy to me. Personally, I think Aline\'s a lot more scary looking....

But Aline has always looked that way. Robert's aged a lot since the documentary.
