A commenter on another site said the animation reminded them of Reboot back in the 90's. I wouldn't go quite that far, but it's still pretty bad.
I'm also disappointed in the trend away from traditional animation (though I am well aware it's far more labor-intensive than CGI). I love the Pixar movies, but few can do it remotely as well as they do.
I just like the aesthetic of hand-drawn animation (though I realize even that gets computer help these days) over most CGI.

At least Disney is still keeping their toes wet with the mixed CGI/hand-drawn technique used for
Paperman.
Here's hoping the Oscar the short won encourages them to keep trying traditional animation in some form.
