Been thinking about the first two issues of the comics, and about the one little teasing thing I remember from Joss' early interviews about the comics run. In all the early interviews, he said It's all about Anya.
And then it hit me. Everyone ... and I mean EVERYONE ... clearly identified the Great Muppety Odin line as way too Xanderish, and let's face it, the preoccupation with sex, even in the confines of her own head? Little odd for Buffy. But go back and read those lines in Anya's voice. And then consider the Xander sex dream. And the "I wish" bit when she goes out the window.
My tin-foil hat theory: Buffy's not alone inside her head.
Anyone else think that the line
"XANDER: And not a sister. " is a shoutout/flashback to Xander's dream
in RESTLESS? Specifically, Buffy
calling Xander "Big (?) brother".
I also loved the line that made Nora and Cindy laugh.
Oooh, victor. I like that a LOT!
And eww, I just had the horrible thought of what if
Amy's "boyfriend" is Anya.
Ditto. I'd never heard that bit about Joss saying
it was all about Anya,
but I can see it. I'm still not sure about the
Muppety part, but the Odin, yeah. Consider the time and place "Aud" came from.
Oh victor, I've missed your Giles-is-Ethan-Rayne-get-out-your-tinfoil-hat theories.

Wrod. I think this one is even better, though, and is much more likely to be valdiated (since there seems to be some meta to support it).
I like victor's theor, too.
Of course, I wanted this:
Giles-is-Ethan-Rayne
To be true so bad that when it wasn't, I was very disappointed.
Also, from that review linked upthread:
"And I have to say I'm getting increasingly impatient with [Andrew]. I mean, he's apparently straight, yet in being surrounded by a legion of hot women he seems to make nary a move for them."
Did this guy even watch the last two seasons? Andrew is NOT straight.
