Burton's movies featured a Batwing equipped with giant scissors and an army of penguins wearing rockets on their backs.
Point. I haven't watched those movies in ages. I just remember everyone being shocked at how "dark" they were because most non-comic folks were used to the 60's TV/Super Friends Batman.
Gail Simone has been fired from Batgirl: [link]
Which adds one more to the tally of JUST HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES ARE YOU GOING TO GUT ME, DC?
edit: on the plus side, I apparently just introduced several of my non-fan twitter friends to the word "cockpunch". Go me?
By email, even:
As of Wednesday of last week, I was informed by an email from my new editor that I am no longer the writer of Batgirl.
There should be a rule about that. Phones, people!
Srsly. Possibly worse than an email breakup.
Yikes indeed. Who do you fridge in Batgirl? I only read the first issue.
Just re-watched Alpha Male through Misplaced tonight.
Dick's "I don't want to be Batman - anymore." in Disordered... oof. Especially in light of what he ends up doing as Nightwing in Season 2.
Also, as much as I love Brent Spiner, his Joker in Revelation is just as lousy the second time around. (Though I blame part of it on the lines he was given.)
Hey, Steph: [link]
It's for Vertigo, so using a whip to enforce the serial comma would probably be expected.
Heh. This requirement leaves me RIGHT OUT:
Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers and other levels of personnel.
Tactful, I ain't. That's why I'm an editor.
I notice that tactful isn't a requirement for dealing with writers and artists. Hence Gail Simone finding out she was fired by e-mail.
