I do NOT read the letters in the back. Nope. Don't.
I think that Amy's boyfriend is Skinless Warren and that Xander will be the kisser. Which is all good with me. I also could only recognize Andrew from the dialog.
I have to read it again before I say anything of substance. I fly through these things in about five minutes. I want one that takes me 44 minutes to read.
Ha! You know what I said to DH?
Me: "You know what sucks about these comics?"
DH: "No. What sucks?"
Me: "They're so damned SHORT!"
Then there was a frustrated aarrgggghhhh. And maybe some sobbing.
My problem is how many of the Free Comic Book Day titles I want. My store is small, so they get a limited amount of each one, and I can't be greedy.
But, but, but -- there's going to be a Lynda Barry sampler, and a collection of Peanuts cartoons that were never re-printed, and a Greg Rucka title that looks really interesting....
Dang. I think I'll just have to give Comic Book Guy a list, and tell him that if they're left over after FCBD, to keep them for me.
I forgot to say how much I liked that
Xander had an yellow PJs with little blue birds on them.
I think
there has to be a catch to what Amy's done, as in a kiss from someone who loves Buffy will permanently lock the spell rather than wake her or something similarly tragic. Why would she go on and on about the way to break a spell she traveled thousands of miles to cast otherwise? Also, why did all of the Slayers in the room just let her stand around yapping after the first few panels? I'm just saying, Bitch might be more inclined to be truthful if someone played "he loves me; he loves me not" with her extremeties...
Though I do appreciate that "You buried me under tons of rock when you turned Sunnydale into a crater!" is a much better rationale for revenge than "You kicked the magic crack habit and think you're so superior!"
Here is a "review" of the latest issue:

Those scare quotes were definitely appropriate.
Been thinking about the first two issues of the comics, and about the one little teasing thing I remember from Joss' early interviews about the comics run. In all the early interviews, he said It's all about Anya.
And then it hit me. Everyone ... and I mean EVERYONE ... clearly identified the Great Muppety Odin line as way too Xanderish, and let's face it, the preoccupation with sex, even in the confines of her own head? Little odd for Buffy. But go back and read those lines in Anya's voice. And then consider the Xander sex dream. And the "I wish" bit when she goes out the window.
My tin-foil hat theory: Buffy's not alone inside her head.
Anyone else think that the line
"XANDER: And not a sister. " is a shoutout/flashback to Xander's dream
in RESTLESS? Specifically, Buffy
calling Xander "Big (?) brother".
I also loved the line that made Nora and Cindy laugh.
Oooh, victor. I like that a LOT!
And eww, I just had the horrible thought of what if
Amy's "boyfriend" is Anya.
