"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Hahahahahahahah! whew. I'm going to quote the FNL Recapper here: "And, LISTEN TO ME, Kevin Reilly, if you don't let us see Jason make the transition between thinking about coaching and actually coaching, well...I'm going to be really, really mad. Over here on the internet." Heh.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Really enjoyed Buffy #2.

Seems very obvious to me that Amy's monster beau is Warren. Hence the skinless freakiness which is scaring everybody.

Seems likely that the waking kiss will be from Xander.

It's funny how all the extra slayers are much more background noise than distracting as they were in the TV show. I think the small screen just looked crowded with them, whereas here they kind of read like Star Trek security dudes who don't all need to have names. You can just throw out a detail here and there and some of them will be foregrounded.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Seems likely that the waking kiss will be from

Heh.

You know, the whitefont makes me want to completely divorce the comics from my view of actual canon. But, you know, I have some serious retcon issues, plus some other pre-existing metatextual issues with the notion of that particular potential hook up, and really... well, it's sounding more and more to me like the comics are concentrated bits of What I Find Problematic in the Jossverse.

Oh well.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Plei! Are you reading JLA? Did you read JLA #7?

What is even happening?

Plei you had issues with the heroine hooking up with the creator's avatar, right?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Seems likely that the waking kiss will be from

Didn't that character specifically exclude him/herself as not qualifying?

Cindy, yes.

Steph, I'm SO behind in my comics. I have a stack that dates back to NOVEMBER to read.

Blame the Ackles.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I think it being Xander is too obvious based on the current issue.

Not, explicitly.

Amy says, "Any of you pros notice she's still asleep? She's living a nightmare, genius, and the only thing that can wak her up is the kiss of true love.

Later they have this exchange:

XANDER: So this doesn't have to be someone she's in love with.

AMY: No, I said. Just someone truly in love with her.

XANDER: But not friend-love.

AMY: Right. Someone who wants to kiss her, like, they're passionate about her.

XANDER: And not a sister.

AMY: Well, a twisted sister.

XANDER: HA! But no, I hate you.

Later

XANDER (to the other slayers): Keep a guard on her and get our witches working on this "true love" crap.

AMY: It's real, Xander. Your star player's out unless she receives a kiss from someone passionately devoted to her.

AMY: Care to give it a whirl?

(close up on Xander's eye.)

That said, since it seems to be Spike in Buffy's dream, and Buffy is known to have prophetic dreams, who knows.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

The line: XANDER: HA! But no, I hate you. Made me laugh and laugh
