"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

The sneak peek of art I showed on my blog got mentioned on Warren Ellis's blog! And he's totally right about where he knows me from. This is me, gobsmacked and liking the way the day has started.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

That is a great way to start the day!

WTF, Marvel? WTF? [link] (Link is spoilery for Fantastic Four. No, not *last* week's spoiler; a new one.)

Not only am I agog at the [spoiler], the variant cover (at link) is one of the most fucked-up things I've seen in a while. (1) Why are most of them grinning like maniacs, given last week's spoiler? (2) WTF parrots? (3) Is Thing carrying a Mini-Me of Invisible Woman? (4) What's with the ALIEN HEAD IN A JAR just floating around?!?

And OH MY GOD THE COSTUMES. Why, Marvel? WHY?!?!?

t edit I don't read any Marvel titles any more, so perhaps all the answers to my questions are obvious. But -- ALIEN HEAD IN A JAR?

Okay, in an effort to prove to Tim that DC is still more fucked up than Marvel, I tried to explain Monsieur Mallah and The Brain to him, and my explanation sounded so ludicrous that I had to pull this page up: [link]

A hyper-intelligent ape in love with a brain in a jar ("metal tube," Tim corrected me). Oh, DC. Never change.

[My 2 posts are related because of the head/brain-in-a-jar thing. And the utter fucked-upped-ness.]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I loved how animated Teen Titans worked Mallah/Brain into their storyline, hinting ever so discreetly at their relationship.

Pink Kryptonite should do a piece on Shore Leave from Venture Brothers. He started as just a Village People knockoff but he was so consistently funny and cool during the second half of last season, he was one of my favorite characters.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

WTF, Marvel? WTF? [link] (Link is spoilery for Fantastic Four. No, not *last* week's spoiler; a new one.)

What? Is Spider-Man the new Wolverine? Wasn't he on the Avengers? And the X-Men, randomly, for some reason? Oh, Marvel. I am still miffed at you for giving Black Panther the Daredevil title. AND THE NUMBERING.

move out and draw fire

WTF, Marvel? WTF?

The big cover is...well, it looks like Thing is tossing a frisbee. But there are hexagons! So it's clearly the future.
