I finally decided to purchase the full version of the Scott Pilgrim game earlier this week. I beat it playing as Scott last night (why, oh, why does it not support online multiplayer?) and got one of the "bad" endings. (Apparently the only way to get the "real" ending is to have Ramona in your group, or play as her if you're going solo, which is odd.)
Overall, it's fun, though it kind of goes from hard (I was playing on "Rough and Tumble" aka Medium difficulty) to kind of easy at about the midway point when you gain access to weapon combos and also run into enemies that drop swords/asp batons/shock rods and then knock people (including most of the bosses) into the corner and just spam the attack button to air juggle them into oblivion.
It is amusing that it was released in conjunction with the movie since it is very much based on the comic books and their storyline.
ETA: As such, I'm glad I read the comics prior to playing it so I was able recognize assorted characters in the background, follow the plot, and get some of the in-jokes.
This month's Marvel calendar match-up:
MR. FANTASTIC
vs.
WOLVERINE
Fight!
Can Mr. Fantastic reassemble himself after he is diced up into little pieces?
Probably not, but there's some question whether or not he's too elastic to ever actually be cut. I believe he has to deliberately tense himself up enough for a needle to penetrate when drawing blood or inoculating himself.
Now I'm envisioning strands of Mr. Fantastic getting wound around Wolverine's claws like salt water taffy. It's kinda disturbing.
Reed's like Wolverine's platonic ideal arch-nemesis. Can't be cut, charge at him and you just get bounced around harmlessly like a kid in one of those Moon Walk tents, and the whole time you spend in a berserker rage trying ineffectually to hurt him he's calmly lecturing you that you should just settle down and talk out your differences like rational adults.
Batman & Robin #16 is out today. Later tonight I will reread the series. And maybe RIP again. And then maybe I'll have another dream about Grant Morrison being shaman-y! Good times.
This week I love Demian for
"You're not a clone are you? Or some stupid robot?"

Scott Pilgrim fans: try entering the Konami code at Fark dot com.
Nice one, Laga.
Sadly it wasn't much of a challenge, but I suppose that's not the point.
Finished second read-through of Scott Pilgrim. Pretty much re-enforced my intial impressions, though Lucas Lee is definately more of a dick in the comics than I originally thought, just not nearly as much as his movie counter-part.
Still don't understand the Glow (So Gideon somehow invented a way to make people's head glow, which makes them hate themselves, and somehow it made him millions of dollars? Bwuh?). I finally just decided to shrug and give up trying to make sense of it and enjoy the story.
I will say after the second time through Kim may be my favorite character.
