Jayne: That's a good idea. Good idea. Tell us where the stuff's at so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

(I think it's the animation mentioned twice upthread)

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

No, I get that. I also recall the Kuzui thing is all.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Scott Pilgrim #6! Yay!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I just finished re-reading #5 today, and I'm picking up #6 tomorrow on my way to the airport. Maybe I can get it signed that very night!

I think #5 may be my least favorite, having re-read them all. It may be objectively better and more mature than some of the others, but, God, it's depressing.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

The original creators are doing a sequal series to Avatar: The Last Airbender. [link]

Only 70 years later, and the new Avatar has grown and already mastered 3 elements? Makes me wonder what happened to Aang to cause him to die in his 60s.

ETA: Interview with more information here: [link] Apparently Aang's time in the iceberg still sort of counted against his longevity.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Okay, here's your Zmayhem Nerd Moment for 2010. We've started introducing Batman: The Animated Series to Matilda and we start with the Robin tape (because, she knows and loves Robin from Teen Titans - the gateway drug to superheroes).

We watch the episode "Robin's Reckoning" which flashes back to his parents' death and their killer, Tony Zucco. When young Dick is taken into the mansion by Bruce, Dick has a briefcase with pictures of his parents, and clippings from their circus act.

Which immediately pinged me, Emmett and JZ to the Teen Titans episode (also Diniverse, remember) with Big Daddy who steals Robin's briefcase with unspecified personal belongings of great meaning to him.

Total callback. We all agreed.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

So they screened Scott Pilgrim yesterday at SDCC. Where the heck is P-C?

The reviews are starting to come out, and hoo-boy, there's going to be a huge chasm between critics who don't get it and those that do.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

That is a truly epic not-getting-it.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I think it's so great when I can tell from a bad review that I'll love the movie.
