What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

60 issues? That's not a lot! In comparison to, say, fucking Hellblazer. I'll be borrowing the whole thing from my friend Seanan anyway. It's the series I keep getting recommended when I mention Ellis, and her zombie political thriller that comes out in May has some Transmet influence, and apparently I may hang out with Ellis at Comic-Con, so I figure I should read it before then.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Tep, I'd take a demonoid invite if you still have 'em.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Actually, I'll be doing Transmetropolitan soon, I think. Before May.

My favorite comic of all time. Bar none.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

My favorite comic of all time. Bar none.

OK, I consider that a helluva recommendation. What do you think of the other Ellis work you've read (in terms of comparison)?

Generally a fan -- love me some Planetary, and his run on StormWatch/the Authorty was awesome. Sometimes he puts out stories where he's mostly going through the motions, but even those tend to be more fun than your average comics, so whattaya gonna do?

But Transmet .. man. I have a love the size of all outdoors for that comic, in all it's bitter, cynical, sarcastic glory. In fact, I have a Spider Jerusalem action figure on my computer, and somewhere I have a picture Darick Robertson drew me of Jerusalem pointing an accusing finger and shouting, "Tell the truth, damn it!" I usually end up re-reading it every year or two, all the way through.

One of these years, Pete will finally give into my pestering and dress up as Spider Jerusalem for Halloween. It will be perfect.

He has the scalp and the cranky attitude -- what's stopping him?
