Glamcookie! I just discovered they're releasing a Powers Encyclopedia this week! It looks pretty cool, and it's only five goddamn bucks. I assume it won't be collected in a later trade since it's 64 pages all on its own. But even if it is, I need it to refresh my memory on everyone because...
Next week, Powers relaunches! Although...without Deena? That can't be right. I'm sure she'll be back eventually, but I guess she was sort of in exile at the end of the last issue, after all.
Also, the Dr. Horrible one-shot is out this week. I will actually be buying things at my comic book store!
Powers Encyclopedia
So cool! I'm sure DW has it on order, but will check with her just in case. Love me some Powers.
Dr. Horrible one-shot
Looking forward to that, too! And a shameless link to a Dr. Horrible sketch DW got at Comic-Con from the artist who did the comic: [link]
Neat! I got a signed DH promo card from her.
I'm sure DW has it on order, but will check with her just in case.
Yeah, I don't know if they would include that in a regular subscription. I'm looking forward to checking it out.
Love me some Powers.
The encyclopedia looks pretty frickin' sweet! There are ten pages on Christian Walker. TEN PAGES. It's super fucking detailed, which is great. I look forward to reading it. Too bad it's not actually written by Bendis, though.
I enjoyed the DH one-shot. Moist got some good lines, and I could hear Nathan's voice in my head with every Captain Hammer line. It's a very amusing read.
My store didn't have the second variant cover, unfortunately, but I did get the first variant, which is a very clever design.
Damn. I knew about some of those, but...damn.
Has anyone read Chew ? A co-worker recommended it to me, and it sounds pretty good.
Reading all those in a row actually made me a little nauseous.
I do understand the complaint of writers and critics that fanboys are too continuity obsessed and that it hems in storytelling.
But...those retcons are all So Monumentally STUPID.
The best thing about Alan Moore's forays into the DC Universe were that he always cared about the core elements of the characters. Okay, admittedly he did do a complete wipe and rewrite on Swamp Thing but he's fuckin' Alan Moore and he made it more interesting than it had been before.
How do you punch reality? If I punched this table hard enough would I crack Earth 3?
