I've been intrigued by
Air
but haven't checked it out. I'm even more intrigued now.
I read the original
Resurrection
trade and thought it was pretty cool, but I wasn't really impressed with the first issue of the new series and didn't keep up with it.
Air is amazing: original fantasy concepts, intricate plot, a great lead character, richly detailed art, etc. It's got just about everything I like in a comic. I also recommend the OGN Cairo by the same team (G. Willow Wilson and M.K. Perker).
I read the first issue of King City and thought it was kind of fun.

Oh, I didn't realize that was the same team! A friend recommended that to me.
I did reviews on my manga review site Prospero's Manga for the original TokyoPop edition of King City and Pluto vol. 1.

Apparently sometime next spring they'll start reprinting volumes 1 & 2 of Casanovain 32 p. collections, with full color. With 2 new one-offs to fill things out. And then, I guess in 2011, volume 3 will begin.
Still all a long way off, but I needed some good news to get me through the rest of this week, so: yay.
My pusher has been telling me to read
Casanova
for ages.
You should. It has a giant robot. And regular sized robots. And AUs, and time travel, and evil twins, and plot twists, and love, and betrayal, and recipes, and spoilers, in plain sight, and sexy times.
And some Pynchon.
Glamcookie! I just discovered they're releasing a
Powers Encyclopedia
this week! It looks pretty cool, and it's only five goddamn bucks. I assume it won't be collected in a later trade since it's 64 pages all on its own. But even if it is, I need it to refresh my memory on everyone because...
Next week,
Powers
relaunches! Although...without Deena? That can't be right. I'm sure she'll be back eventually, but I guess she was sort of in exile at the end of the last issue, after all.
Also, the
Dr. Horrible
one-shot is out this week. I will actually be buying things at my comic book store!
