Here's a link to the Joss interview, which I think you have to pay to listen to, but the $ goes to a great cause.

Dork Tower is using reader entries on an empty cartoon. I LOVE Thursday's (which takes some liberties with the last panel): [link]
Haaaa, awesome.
So Larry Gonick's Cartoon History of the Modern World, part 2 is out this week, which means that he's finally finished with the Cartoon History of the Universe project that he started 30 years ago.
Truly one of the greatest accomplishments in the history of comics.

Yaaaaay! I LOVE those things! I've bought every one of these as soon as they were printed. For ... 30 years? Really? Yikes.

That's how long ago he stared working on the project. The first volumes came out as individual comic books, and volumes 1-7 were collected as a trade paperback in 1990. Gonick's original editor at Doubleday was Jackie Onassis.

I did not know that! How cool. Yes, that timeline fits with my memory (which is unusual, really; my memory for events is so bad it leads me to believe in parallel universes). I bought the comic books, and someone gave me the first paperback collection for Christmas, probably in 1990. And I've just bought this latest from your link. What would I do without Buffistas, to alert me to these important things?
Speaking of alerts:
Planetary #27 is out tomorrow. So I may have to sneak out of the office at lunch.
As is Criminal: The Sinners #1, for them what likes the crime stories. It's a new storyline, although there are recurring characters, so it's a good time to give it a try.

Meep.
Also, that means the Buffy, Angel, Astounishing and Planetary are all coming out on the same day.
And Daredevil !
...Hey, I care.
Anyone read Blankets ? My brother just bought it for me, completely unaware that it has been on my mental List for a while because it's supposed to be really good. I don't even remember how or where I first heard about it.
I less than three Blankets immensely. Gorgeous art, solid writing, beautiful and emotional story. Oh, yes.
