"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Planetary #27 is out tomorrow.

Meep.

Also, that means the Buffy, Angel, Astounishing and Planetary are all coming out on the same day.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

And Daredevil !

...Hey, I care.

Anyone read Blankets ? My brother just bought it for me, completely unaware that it has been on my mental List for a while because it's supposed to be really good. I don't even remember how or where I first heard about it.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I less than three Blankets immensely. Gorgeous art, solid writing, beautiful and emotional story. Oh, yes.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Ayup.

it's supposed to be really good.

It is really good. One of the best GNs of all time. Craig Thompson is just oozing with talent.

Awesome. My brother hasn't even read it, but this was his reasoning for getting it for me:

well i thought about getting arkham asylum but then i remembered this graphic novel recommendation image list and i know how much you like romance and painful childhoods so i thought well

Blankets is wonderful. It's one of those graphic novels that reminds you why you read graphic novels in the first place. Touching and tender and beautiful and true.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Anyone else here as unimpressed with Asterios Polyp as I was?

I loved the art. I loved the narrative structure.

The plot and characterization had me rolling my eyes so hard they fell out and got stuck under the couch at almost every turn. I would like to know specifically if the author has ever met an Actual Human Female.

All the characters in the novel were philosophical props.
