Aw, cheers, Plei. I'm, er, amusing myself by writing a ::cough::J2::cough:: variation on Notting Hill; but I'm making the bookshop into a comic shop, so the comic stuff is liable to crop up throughout. But if you don't mind, I'll sling it over to you when I'm done.

Dude! New Batgirl under the cowl: Stephanie Brown !!!
AWESOME!
So, in Archie 600 he's marrying Veronica in a six issue event. Which I'm assuming gets back to the status quo by #606.
Oh, Archie. How COULD you?
Oh, Archie. How COULD you?
This event has spurred many collectors to *destroy their collections*, apparently. It was on local news on Monday.
oh, you need to stop it. Destroying their collections?
"Archie is *not* fucking Mr. Weatherbee!"
"Deny, deny."
Destroying their collections?
That's what the news said. "Many" may be an exaggeration. SEVERAL I would believe.
I did find 3 auctions on Ebay of entire Archie comic collections. Irked collectors ditching the entire franchise.
I think it's a bit goofy. But then, I am not a comic collector. I'm a fan of Neil Gaiman (specifically), Frank Miller (specifically), and anything where the Joker gets good lines. That's *it*.
So, I read about this in more detail on Wikipedia. Do the collectors understand this is an alternate universe kind of thing and likely not to stick?
I don't get it.
