I was a month (or more) behind in picking up my pulls, so I'm not sure when Angel #5 came out (which is why I'm about to whitefont), but I'm confused by the
Fred/Illyria
thing. But I'm assuming that I'm supposed to be confused.
In Angel #6, I loved the
Lorne
segment. Art, writing, everything. Actually, I'm loving the writing overall through the whole series so far.
Buffy #13 just made me giggle, with the whole
Xander and Dracula friends4evah
thing going on.
Andrew
made me laugh, too, especially with the
George Hamilton from Love at First Bite costume.
The one thing in Buffy #13 that I violently dislike was
Willow asking Satsu how Buffy was in bed.
I'm sorry, but that is so massively out of character that it made me throw up in my mouth a little.
Willow
would never do that.
She
just wouldn't.
I totally agree about the Willow thing.
Steph, on the Angel # 5 question, I think once they get back to this storyline they will answer it, but my guess is
the sickness Spike's been referring to re Illyria is bits of Fred leaking back in.
I thought that maybe because LA was in Hell (or some sort of hellish dimension), that
Illyria was no longer inhabiting Fred's body,
much like the way Angel is apparently not a freaking vampire any more (and what the HELL is up with that?!?).
New Batman series on Toon.
The Legion series looks dead, though.
Yeah, I'd heard that. That sucks.
I had no problem
with Willow asking Satsu for details. She used to ask Buffy for details about all her "smoochies" when she was dating in high school. Willow has a bit of a voyeuristic streak. Remember the "everyone's getting spanked except me?" Plus, who could not love her asking Satusu if Buffy squealed the "shoe-sale noise?" I laughed until I cried.
Angel #5 has me confused, too. How could
Connor know Angel was his dad without it being him remembering it that way? I got the impression, too, that Home brought that all back for him.
I hope with get further explanation of that.
Sumi,
Considering the
"Scythe"
was one of the main components of the
"make every potential a Slayer" spell
it makes sense it could also be used to
reverse said spell.
I enjoyed Buffy #13 and
Willow
didn't seem out of character to me at all. And I was highly amused by the
"shoe sale squeal".
Didn't realize Angel #6 was out. I only get my pulls every couple weeks and I had #5 in there, but no #6. Really, I'm not enjoying the series too much so far, but I can't cancel the pull until my gf catches up on them and decides if she wants to keep reading. I think there's a lot of good ideas, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Plus, as others have said, the art leaves a lot to be desired.
But when my favorite character is a psychic fish we only see for a couple pages, that doesn't say a lot for the people involved.
