Welcome, isis!
Thirding or fourthing the Umbrella Academy recommendation. It's smart and funny and twisted and stylish and so far I have no idea where the story is going. Really fun.

Have people read Angel yet?
Gunn! Noooooooooooooooooooo!
And that's all I have to say about that.
My local comics shop told me they were severely shorted on Angels, and that the distributor was (hopefully temporarily) out of stock on them. Anyone know anything about that?
Kinda?
Wow, that's some kind of awful. I don't remember ever seeing any of his work before. Although that might be because I had the good fortune to never have read those particular titles while he was drawing them, it could just as well be that I removed the grey matter where the memories of any earlier viewings were stored with a drill press. That's certainly what I'm contemplating doing now.
I read a lot of his work. And then I backed off the X books. He stunk up the X suburbs something awful. And those examples? Hardly isolated. He's chronically crap.
"He still cannot draw a foot."
Or a hand.
Or, calves or thighs.
But pouches? Yes, lots of little meaningless pouches and BigASS guns.
I was reading another discussion of this, where it was pointed out that the worst Liefeld drawing didn't actually make the list.
Liefeld is one reason I fled the world of superhero comics screaming. It really seems that somebody tried to explain perspective to him once, and he never bothered to actually investigate it any further.
You think that with all the money they're paying him, Marvel would send him to a couple of classes at the Joe Kubert school or something.
