Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

It's tempting...

Psst, kid! Want some sweet, sweet crack? First one's free....

Comic books are dead.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

As much as I prefer the graphic novel format (indeed the only actual comic books I've ever bought were Freak Brothers, Kevin Smith's Spider-Man Black Cat, Serenity and Buffy Season 8) this news makes me sad.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

WANT!

Bought yesterday. Haven't read yet. Of course, haven't read new Buffy yet, either.

Why am I even in this thread? Runs away.

Ooh I think I just started my Christmas list.

Astonishing: OK. I've now read everything I brought home the other day, which was a lot. And I've now gone back and read over the last few weeks of comics, which were a few. And, while there is much praising of Whedon's dialog, particularly with Kitty and Emma, there's no mention of what may well be the single best comic book geek moment of the year:

Scott, on the last page, eyes finally blazing again, saying "To me, my X-Men!" (For those not getting it, it's a callback to the the very first issue of "X-Men," back in the '60s. Professor X says it telepathically to summon the team.)

Holy. Fucking. Shit. It's been soooo long since I've been that giddy come the last page of a comic.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I still hate Cyclops. Can't make me not.

I'm skimming all the Buffy talk because I want to know when they're to be compiled into graphic novels.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I still hate Cyclops. Can't make me not.

I was right there with you until this last issue. The "What else have you been lying about moment?!??!?" was just to hard to resist.
