Dawn: I think a date should be in a real fancy restaurant, then champagne at a night club with a floor show, then ballroom dancing. Joyce: Unfortunately, we're not dating in a movie from the thirties.

'Get It Done'

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2006: You're ON THE LIST!!!

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2006? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I delurked during "The Great Get Nilly to the States" drive back in 2004, which was also right before the DC F2F. Luckily, I only walked by the guac and managed not to make an ass of myself at the F2F. I'm so very glad I did, considering I haven't been able to make it to one since. I've met some very wonderful people who have been a terrific support system when whinging seems to be on infinite loop. There are a bunch more of you I hope to meet soonish.

I'm not in the right headspace to deconstruct 2006 at the moment. The end has sucked giant monkey balls, and coloured my view of the whole year. Suffice it to say, I shall be very, very glad when it's over (for me and a lot of other people.)

I'm horrified that my gift will be so late...given that part of it is Xmas themed, dangit. But is should arrive tomorrow, Monday at the latest. Last time I trust holiday shipping promises! I'm going to shoot for the Black Friday post next time.

Pshaw! It got here today! I think it was Stephanie who mentioned Epiphany on January 6th -- Italians consider it the real holiday as well. Therefore, it is not late. And it came with extra exclamation points! I opened a box full of goodies and drooled over: beautiful capiz shell earrings, a gorgeous bronze metallic ball candle, a Lush Best Wishes gift set, a Tea & Sympathy bath bomb (so perfect), and 2 packets of Moss Rose seeds. I can't wait to plant them this spring! Thank you so much, Beej. It's all lovely and perfect.

On the more procrastinaty side of things, my SS gift has yet to go out. The plan is to hit the post office this weekend. I hope my giftee won't be too upset.

move out and draw fire

Huh, apparently I delurked in Jan 2002. That's a long lurkage (starting with TT in March 2000), but I still sounded like a twit when I did the deed.

Actually, I probo-mostly sound like a twit, so that's OK.

I dallied with other online communities in that lurkage phase (most notably Imladris, from the time the LOTR movies were leveraged), but all that did was convince me this one was a different breed.

Compassionately intolerant

Tea & Sympathy bath bomb (so perfect)

I was sooo thinking of you when I found it.

Glad the box arrived safely and finally. More than anything, I'm hoping you can get some relaxation and comfort from it. (And a little Springtime hope thrown in.)

Blessings to you as the year turns.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Luckily, I only walked by the guac and managed not to make an ass of myself at the F2F.

P'shaw! More than that! You stuffed us in your big car and drove us all over the town! Thanks to my fishnets and a pen in MtbF's pocket he wound up experiencing a world entirely new to him!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Hey, Vortex, yay on the package getting there and being good and all! I slackered you a couple of years ago and I've always felt bad that the first slackage wasn't all it could be, so it was great fun to get a do-over and give you a proper wow.

Thrive to spite them

The lovely Ginger sent me a beautiful dragonfly hook! It's so pretty and it's going to be hung right by my light switch so I can hang my keys and purse on it!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

OMG, am idiot. Totally forgot to subscribe to this thread. Duh.

I am so sorry to read about the bad things verious peeps went through in 2006, and overjoyed to read the good things.

It seems unpossible that we have only had 5 years of Plei. In my mind you have been on since I found the board on TT.

Definitely. When I came back on in 2002, it felt like you had been there when I was here before.

Well, we all know that Juliana rocks, but after today, she rocks just a bit more in my world!

And this is why I was smacking myself for not subscribing!! I was all worried that the package had gotten delayed - I am so very glad that this is not the case, and that you like(d) your prezzies, Stephanie!

And, Ellie has appropriated the flahing disco blue rubber ducky as her own.

Aren't those fun? I always smack them in the store where I got it.

Ahhh, delurking. First delurked on TT, probably around July or August of 2000. Re-delurked when Phoenix went live - I had Issues with WX and also needed time to focus on Real Life things.

I just have to say that it is hard to get something to AK by Christmas.

I was so happy my mom wanted her Xmas present by the 15th, as it made me get my butt in gear to send presents to AK & PR in time! And to get a present shipped here from TO on time! (This is a very big thing for me - I'm never on time.)

I'll comment on 2006 in another post....

Yep! He now spends most his time with professional and political blogs. He liked buffistas, though. Were there more hours in the day, he'd probably join us again. That's where we're different. Were there more hours in the day, I'd probably get caught up on my professional reading. It's all priorities.
