I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Mmm, Ikea meatballs.

Now tagless for your comfort.

What's floam?

A brightly colored molding product guaranteed to get ground into carpets

It's non-toxic, at least. And makes for festive diaper changes. /voice of experience

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I think of Floam as what you'd get if you added sticky to styrofoam pellets, along with International Hailing Distress-type colors.

I don't seem to be doing anything for NYE. On the whole, that means this year is going out the way it pretty much went.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Turns out I *am* doing something for NYE. Got invited some time ago to our friend (and realtor!) and husband's party. We were going to travel to NM for our vacation. But we forgot to book the dog. So we were going to be here. Then we remembered we needed to pick up the mail for year end reporting. So we were going to NM. Then we decided it wasn't important enough to go just for that. Then our Navajo singer announced he was ready with his songs, so we were going to go record him. Then the entire state of New Mexico's road systems closed due to snow. So now we're going to be here. And we're invited to their party.

But I didn't prepare anything to bring with me. Will I be a terrible guest if I show up empty-handed? Do I need to bake something up quickly?

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Happy new year, UKers!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy new year!

You're not a terrible guest if you show up empty-handed. Or you could buy flowers or something? If you don't feel like baking quickly.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I could steal flowers. I'm classy. Plus, I'm pretty sure I've seen that in films, and they are my moral compass.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

We have become part of the kitty crack mat conspiracy. Picked one up at Petco and are greatly amused by the results.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Any word on Allyson's travel travails? I need to run out for a bit and I'm not sure if the appropriate people have my cell #.
