Angel: He is dead. Technically, he's undead. It's a zombie. Connor: What's a zombie? Angel: It's an undead thing. Connor: Like you? Angel: No, zombies are slow-moving, dimwitted things that crave human flesh. Connor: Like you. Angel: No! It's different. Trust me.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Man, I hate watching my peeps go through serious back pain.

Painease, Cash.

EM called me this morning. Her dad died before she got there. But she'll be able to spend some time with her family there and (I hope) throw something like a proper Irish wake for him. She's pretty broken up.

In better news, I had this conversation with Emmett (which might have particular resonance for those of you who've kept track of his wants and desires over the years):

Me: Matilda's already two and half months old. She's getting bigger already.
Emmett: And cute. She's cuter than a finger monkey.
Me: Really? You think she's cuter than a finger monkey?
Emmett: Yep.
Me: Well, I think so too.
Emmett: I think so more!

Also, yesterday he proclaimed, "I just want to eat her up! She's like a plum!"

One last Emmett and Matilda. As she rolled off a breast to cough and snort while we were all on the couch, he just casually observed, "Baby's off the boob."

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

EM called me this morning. Her dad died before she got there.

Good night, sweet prince. A flight of angels wing thee to thy rest.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I hope Hec doesn't kill me for being first with this, but:

move out and draw fire

If anyone gets angels and a chance to rest in a lovely afterlife, it's EM's dad.

Sympathy and warm thoughts to EM - losing a parent is, well, there are no real words.

However, in yaygood news, thanks to my angel boss, we now have a digital camera! And as thrilled as I am about being able to document Matilda's growth minute-by-minute, I'm almost as thrilled about being able to photograph and list the vintage dresses on eBay.

Yay!

Anne! Yay power and heat!

From the Overshare Dept: A couple we know here have decided to have a baby. The entire embassy knows this now, because they were giving a few random people rides home, when the female portion of the couple looked at her watch and said "Can we go faster? I only have 15 minutes left!"

Then, in case anyone missed it, proceeded to explain the ovulation window.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I just got my period. Today is the sixth. Last month I got it on the... 10thish. Before that and for a long time it was around the fifteenth. This is getting very annoying. And it hurts extra.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh, JZ, so beautiful. And David, Emmett looks so much like you in those pics!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

The cuteness. It overwhelms.

Poor Trudy. Wishing you hot pads and good drugs.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Aimée - Well, fuckity. No babysitter for Saturday night. Fuck fuck fuck.

Tell the old man you gotta go to the market for some bread and milk. Hopefully he won't notice the sexy santa outfit... ooo maybe leave it in the car, change at the party.

Sssshhhhhhh He'll never know!

What is even happening?

Hec, I'm sorry EM didn't get to her dad in time. He sounds like someone I would have liked to know. I'm sorry for your family's loss.

I hope Hec doesn't kill me for being first with this, but
JZ, if he kills you, he has to take care of Matilda all by himself.

I just got my period. Today is the sixth. Last month I got it on the... 10thish. Before that and for a long time it was around the fifteenth. This is getting very annoying. And it hurts extra.
Trudy, I'm sorry hurting. Fwiw, if the 10th of November was your day one, you had a 27 day cycle. That's not really too far off.

Our wings are not tired.

Cutiehead pictures! Matilda is going to follow around Emmett like a puppy dog.

I'm sorry for your family's loss, Hec. Also, Irish funerals are the best. There were dozens of wakes and funerals in my childhood as my great aunts and uncles passed. Usually at home, confusing for a wee child to see all the laughing and crying adults.

Wishing you hot pads and good drugs.

A good plan for Trudy.
