Hi all!
Skippity skip. Forget Natter, 1500 posts behind and I think they are all whitefont puzzle. Kinda skimmed here. Hugs and love and stuff.
Had a lovely time camping in the Keys for Thanksgiving. Highlights:
When we lost signal for the Miami radio station the first Key West station we hit was just starting Alice's Restaurant! Woo Hoo! Despite the swanky population growth, the keys, still filled with hippies.
Weather was damned near perfect. Not a cloud to be seen. Highs daily 80ish, lows at night 60ish. Slept like a baby.
Went to find BrendonJr after not seeing him for 6 hours or so (such a relaxed mom) and found him in the hot tub with 3 bikini clad teens. Um, he had a good time. He was either at the beach, in the pool area, or playing basketball non-stop for the whole trip.
Had fresh fish caught by DH 3 days in a row. Snapper and shark. Yum.
I messed up bringing the dog because I was stuck in the tent dog sitting for the whole trip while the boys were off playing with kids and DH was off fishing. I read 2 books and relaxed a whole lot, so not all bad.
There's more, I'm sure, but trying to catch up with work. Boo work!
Laura, sounds like a fab time! I could use some 80s weather. I'll have to settle for high 50s today and tomorrow.
Laura, that does sound like a fabulous get away!
I'm steadfastly ignoring the kids-tree-spinning talk.
I've done a thorough cleaning, clearing job in the pantry. I've got a box of paper goods, canned soups, crackers, tea, hot chocolate & oatmeal packets boxed up.
From the bathroom, I've got a box of bandaids, gauze pads & tape, all the hotel bar soaps and shampoos that accumulated in the drawers, my glucometer (from the gestational diabetes).
From the closets, two barely worn men's winter coats, old hats, scarves & gloves, some worn towels and old throw blankets.
All of this is now sitting in the hall waiting to pack in the van and deliver to the men's shelter downtown.
I am well and truly gronked.
Em was up with night terrors around 1am. Just when I thought we were past that. That terrified screaming just wrenches my heart right out of my chest. We tried numerous things to wake her up. When she finally did, we gave her a bit of milkie and read "Pat the Bunny" and then she was out like a light again.
Very tired. Motivation hasn't goten here yet. It must be running late.
Again.
Aw, poor Aimee.
When we were kids, my folks got a smaller tree which was up on a sideboard, too high for toddlers to reach. When we got older, the problem was cats, so they always wired the top of the tree to the curtain rod, and we all learned to hang all breakable ornaments above two foot or so. We had a bunch of wood and paper and plastic ones for the lower parts of the tree.
Hmm. I'm going on a recruiting trip, and need to get my nails done. I will go to a party the day after I get back. Should I go with the pretty deep red, suitable for the holidays, or a nice professional neutral? In case it matters, my toes are a nice deep blue.
Aww, Aimee, I'm sorry. Can I write your motivation a doctor's note?
Gronk.
Guess who got to work only to find the campus is basically closed?
Oh well. Might as well stick around. I'm not braving the walk to the bus anytime soon, considering I almost slipped and fell in the ice-covered crosswalk on the way in.

Lily! I love the pants-on-head days, and she's really styling in her neon green diaper cover! Sleepy bean is my new favorite Lillian, though.
Aww, such a cute, happy kidlet!
