I wonder if I can cajole the hotel that has the non refundable room to, er, refund the reservation... doubtful

Now tagless for your comfort.

'Tis the season to gouge the traveller.

Yeah, it looks like we'll probably take the train up on Saturday and then fly back on Tuesday (no trains on Tuesday). The one way on Tuesday is about $65, so that's pretty cheap (that includes taxes, etc)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We'll probably get a small, three foot tree again this year. We're going to wait to get a big tree until we have enough ornaments for one, which should take a while.

Last year, the younger nephew would spin the fake tree they had around and say "Whee!" while the ornaments flew all around, which was cute if you weren't his parents.

sj, let's hope he doesn't teach that trick to Jilli's boykitties. Hee.

I think I'll still decorate a little even though I won't have a tree. I've got a nice bright red table cloth I use at Christmas and I hang all the Christmas cards I receive on the bannister on the stairs to the loft. I've got some festive votives I can line up on the coffee table (if I can find them.) I'm just tired of all the work a tree is.

I was thinking more about Olivia.

That would be bad, too. She might give Owen ideas.

Our wings are not tired.

Hi all!

Skippity skip. Forget Natter, 1500 posts behind and I think they are all whitefont puzzle. Kinda skimmed here. Hugs and love and stuff.

Had a lovely time camping in the Keys for Thanksgiving. Highlights: When we lost signal for the Miami radio station the first Key West station we hit was just starting Alice's Restaurant! Woo Hoo! Despite the swanky population growth, the keys, still filled with hippies. Weather was damned near perfect. Not a cloud to be seen. Highs daily 80ish, lows at night 60ish. Slept like a baby. Went to find BrendonJr after not seeing him for 6 hours or so (such a relaxed mom) and found him in the hot tub with 3 bikini clad teens. Um, he had a good time. He was either at the beach, in the pool area, or playing basketball non-stop for the whole trip. Had fresh fish caught by DH 3 days in a row. Snapper and shark. Yum. I messed up bringing the dog because I was stuck in the tent dog sitting for the whole trip while the boys were off playing with kids and DH was off fishing. I read 2 books and relaxed a whole lot, so not all bad. There's more, I'm sure, but trying to catch up with work. Boo work!
