[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Because books.

Oh, I love this one. I'm a sucker for the Edwardian era stuff.

Actually, I loved almost all the clothes in Iron-Jawed Angels, which is set just a little bit later.

So, after all the bitching I did about the last landlord, I'm hesitant to even post the word landlord on the board.

But, I am so impressed with the new landlord. He's a little forgetful, but when you ask him to do something, he does it *right* away. Before it got cold enough to turn on the heat, he said he'd be bringing by a new filter before I had to turn the heat on. Well, he didn't, and I was too lazy to call. And, then I haven't needed the heat. So, I looked ahead at the weather and decided I may need it soon. Since my asthma's been a little testy, I decided it would be good to have the filter replaced before I turned the heat on again.

I called my landlord. At 3:30 on Friday afternoon, which was a bit irresponsible. So, when he said he was leaving to go out of town in the morning, I told him it could wait (I'm gonna be at my parent's much of next week, anyways). But, a few minutes later, he called me back. I had mentioned my asthma, and he didn't want me to wait. He needed to know the size, 'cause he was gonna buy it and come over.

AND, to top that off, he bought the expensive, good filter, because he doesn't want me having any asthma troubles because of the furnace. I think he's getting Christmas cookies.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I have had good landlords in my life. Rarely, but sometimes. I agree that when they happen, they are to be treasured and given Christmas cookies.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay for quality landlords!

All the clothing links make me warm to even look at them. I'm thinking I need to stick to tank tops and shorts.

Yes. Our landlord truly does. The real test of her might will be how she reacts to all of our friends at the XXXmas party.

Thrive to spite them

I was reading Slate the other day and there was a column by this woman who wanted to get better at math and took some fancy Japanese style tutoring course that's usually offered to kids. It got me thinking about how deficient I am in math and how much I hate that. But I can't afford tutoring like she was taking -- is there any other way I can improve my math skills-- like educational computer program or books or something?
