WASHINGTON - President Bush will hold a news conference on Wednesday to discuss the outcome of the U.S. congressional elections, White House spokesman Tony Snow announced on Tuesday night.
The news conference was set for 1 p.m. ET.
Snow said the outcome of the elections, in which Democrats were projected to win control of the House of Representatives, was “not what we would’ve hoped,” and that it will be up to the Democrats to help find solutions to problems instead of complaining about them.
“The president has got a very active agenda for the next two years and you’re going to need both parties,” he said.

That one is losing right now, Burrell. By a decent majority, too.
Ok, only 6%, but still. It's not winning.
Heh. From the latest update at CQ:
We're not going to make any official announcments yet, but to put it mildly, this is not shaping up to be a good night for the Republicans.

CNN also projected it, but the SD site is the official stuff.
Webb has pulled ahead - barely, but ahead. God it would be wonderful to be wrong and have the Democrats take the Senate. Still doubt it will happen, but not absolutely out of the question.
Oh, poor Allyson. Get hot & sour soup tomorrow!
I know it's losing Aimee, I just hope it loses.
Citing a lack of time, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson withdrew Tuesday from the team overseeing counseling for the Rev. Ted Haggard, the evangelical pastor who was fired amid allegations of gay sex and drug use.
"Emotionally and spiritually, I wanted to be of help - but the reality is I don't have the time to devote to such a critical responsibility," Dobson said.
Heh. "Sorry you're drowning; here's an anvil."
