Citing a lack of time, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson withdrew Tuesday from the team overseeing counseling for the Rev. Ted Haggard, the evangelical pastor who was fired amid allegations of gay sex and drug use.
"Emotionally and spiritually, I wanted to be of help - but the reality is I don't have the time to devote to such a critical responsibility," Dobson said.

No offense but I actually have issues with that proposition and I don't think it makes me a goober.
I have issues with most of the propositions on the California ballot. I automatically vote against all changes to the state constitution, and a lot of the bond measures, which left me with... not much to support. I honestly believe that government-by-referendum isn't either efficient or appropriate, since an even smaller percentage of the general public is going to understand the fine print than of the legislature. And the legislature is hired to develop, understand, and pass laws.

Oh, Consuela, I am with you. Though I would totally support a ballot initiative that would mandate a salary reduction for all elected officials each time an initative is added to a ballot.
