Swouncing

Ouise, that what that I am, now, is running away from the computer and out of the university for the evening, but sadly not to msbelle's place.

Have a (what's the appropriate description?) Halloween, those who observe it, and just a good day, everybody!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Birthday DCJ!

Happy Anniversary, HouseofReasons!

Feel better Sue, and Ouise, and any/everyone else I am missing.

This is the first year in a while that I won't be going to any non-work parties, which makes me a little sad, but not too much.

I still need to decide if I want to wear a tiara, or the Pimp Hat, or just go without for the work thing.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm not sure if this has been linked to before... Bad Amazon reviews of classic works of literature: [link]

L. Wright "Musette Wright" wrote (apropos Romeo and Juliet):

Not that I don't like Shakespeare's works, but his tragedies are terrible, especially this one. I can't understand the language real well, so I have to grab one with the contemporary language so that it'll be easier to understand. I just can't understand this love tragedy at all! Here are some things that confuse me:

*How did this feud really begin?
*Why can't this story end in happily ever after?
*Why does Lady Capulet have to be so stuck up on everybody?
*Why couldn't Shakespeare have written in a language we could all understand?
*Why does everybody have to jump to conclusions?

I simply can't understand why people love this play so much. It's ridiculous! If you want a true love story, try reading "A Midsummer Night's Dream". This one absolutely SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I still need to decide if I want to wear a tiara, or the Pimp Hat, or just go without for the work thing.

It didn't even occur to me that I could be-costume myself today. I vote for tiara!

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

*Why does everybody have to jump to conclusions?

If you think about it, this is kind of a legitimate complaint, don't you think? Okay, at least Romeo looked at the body of Juliet, and touched it, and verified it was cold. But really, if he'd procrastinated just a few more minutes -- !

But the world of fiction would not turn if people did not jumpt o hasty conclusions; or anyway the world of thrillers certainly would not.

*Why can't this story end in happily ever after?

Apparently the Victorians were big on revising the Bard to make his tragedies end happily. The Apothecary was too nice, and mixed up something that just tastes like poison! Romeo wakes up just in time to stop Juliet stabbing herself! Wait, look, Tybalt was just sleeping!!

It's hilarious.

I guess Halloween is very big at the firm-- there's a costume party, with prizes and all that. I think Tiara, plus my Bling kitty skirt (that part x-posted with Bitches). I still need to find a good shirt though.

I hope no children come knocking on the door tonight, because it occurs to me that I have no candy at home.

We should trade, shrift. I have one bag of candy, bought before I realized I won't be home until 8:00 or 8:30.

Woot!

Australia is safe.

Is that where they were going to dump Hubble?
