I can't shake the feeling that drinking decaf is pointless, even though I drink like ginger ale or non-caf root beer all the time.
What's the link between ginger ale and decaf?
For me, decaf is pointless because I haven't seen any Blue Mountain decaf I wanted to try, and the only reason I drink coffee other than Blue Mountain is for the caffeine. Which means I don't drink coffee so much as I drink espressos. I like the concentrate.
Oh, was anyone reminded of The Tick on VB last night?
Totally. Particularly
"You will be MURDERFLIES!"

I drink ginger ale when it's not appropriate to drink caffeinated soda (after noon, basically). I guess the answer is I'm not enough of a coffee connoisseur to enjoy it just for its own sake.
I've been earwormed with
Rock Lobster
for over a week, now. Even the voldemort of earworms has been unable to overcome it. I think I figured out why it's lasted so long, today. When I type in one of my passwords, I have/get
Rock Lobster
in my head.

Oh, I get it--you're not drinking the ginger ale for the ginger aleishness, but because it's there and won't keep you up late?
I'm no coffee connoisseur either--I tolerate the espresso and enjoy the Blue Mountain, but that's about it.
Luckily and magically and no doubt due to the migraines I'm medicating with the espresso, caffeine keeps me up not one whit. Sleeping after a triple macchiato is no more difficult than sleeping before one.
Have your migraines changed at all (frequency, level of badness) since you've been off work?

I'm not familiar with this concept.
Not one bit, sadly.
It would have been nice for a clear demonstration that I was allergic to my boss.
Maybe it'll take a few more days to shake her.

I'm baffled by decaf coffee, non-alcoholic beer, and caffeine-free diet soda, especially since most caffeine-free diet soda tastes like I just got a snootful of kerosene fumes.
For me, the point of these beverages are as caffeine and/or alcohol delivery systems. If I'm not looking for caffeine and/or alcohol in my beverage, I'm going to drink something else. I don't experience any psychosomatic benefits just from the taste alone.
I'm puzzled by the entire concept of beer, since I feel hard liquor is a much more efficient alcohol delivery medium, and can taste better to boot.
I do intermittently taste beer to see if I still think it's nasty, and will always smell a new kind if it's around, but I'll just stick to actually imbibing the rum and the tequila.
