Bloody hell. I hope they are right it is a small aircraft. Last time I heard a small aircraft, those were the first reports from the Pentagon hit, people saying it was a small private plane...
That's what they were saying hit the WTC five years ago, too. I remember Brokaw (I think, one of the major network anchors, anyhow) questioning the accuracy of an eyewitness who said it was a jet.
That's some crack reporting, right there.
And it's not even the good crack.
cnn.com has a picture of the building.
These buildings are less than half the size the towers were -- this was not a jet.
Yikes.
And here I was coming to post about my cursive freezing in its juvenile, extra curly bits state since I lost interest in improving my writing round about seventh grade.

FDNY has apparently confirmed that it was a helicopter.

Yeah, I can't even imagine a plane being that small and low.

I wasn't saying it was. I was talking about five years ago.

No. I've been bouncing between NBC and CNN. Some reports are still saying fixed wing aircraft. Some are saying helicopter. Nobody knows. They don't think it's anything but a tragic accident, but a no-fly zone has been established and NORAD has scrambled fighter jets over major cities.

Both of which, up until a few minutes ago, were saying that the crash happened "near Rockefeller Center" (which is 30 blocks south and on the other side of town), so I'm relying on local news sources for now.
