Any mamas about? I tink Peter's first tooth is in, but if what I think is a tooth really is one, it's in a weird place - where I'd expect a canine. Dr. Google notes that the usual pattern is 8 incisors, then 4 molars, then canines, and that's what Eve did (she got her first tooth at 4 months, and canines at 18 or so.) Anybody heard of first teeth in weird places? Or could it be something other than a tooth? It's hard and sharp, and he's certainly been acting like a teether...

What is even happening?

flea, my kids all got the bottom front two teeth first, then the top front. That said, my guess, without seeing it, is that it's a tooth. Is he otherwise well (aside from being fussy, that is)?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Em got her two bottoms and two tops all in at once, so I would say it looks like a tooth.

Tell him not to eat it.

Just CRANKY PANTS, very unusually for him, but not feverish or anything.

Maybe he's growing fangs.

If so, might be a good time to wean. *wink*

It's a bottom canine. He'll be an upside-down snaggletoothed vampire.

Even though it's white, and square, and looks like a tooth??? You young parents and your wacky rules.

Just CRANKY PANTS, very unusually for him, but not feverish or anything.
It sounds like a tooth, particularly since it's sharp. It's a weird place for a first tooth, but I think that's most likely. I'd just keep an eye on it, unless he starts acting otherwise unwell. CRANKY PANTS is probably a good sign in this instance.
