We are totally inundated with Spirit - The Halloween Store(s) now. I think they're occupying every single empty storefront in the city. Our ex-supermarket is now a Halloween superstore.
Emmett is considering the following costume possibilities:
Doc Holiday (Tombstone version, 'natch)
Harpo (again)
Gir (though he felt that in keeping with the character he would be obliged to run amok and tackle all the Halloweenies).
He'd make a good Gir, though. He can do the voice.
Kristin! I keep forgetting to send gentle hugs for your poor back. {{{Kristin}}}
It pisses me off that finally the boys are old enough for me to wear a really scary costume, and Sara is still too young. I've had a Victorian corpse in mind for years now. Stupid children-having. One day they'll all be old enough. Sigh.
Thanks Amy. I've been stuck in bed all day and am SO SICK OF IT. I seem to be mostly coherent, though, which is good since I have at least five hours of schoolwork to do.
Which I should probably get started on, come to think of it. Whee.

Emmett should totally be Gir.

Oh, I never even thought about that. Yeah, it's probably a bad idea to scare your own kids, isn't it?

Ooooh. And this reminds me that I need to check the company HR site, to find out if there are any ... restrictions on costumes worn to work. I need to make sure stage blood is okay.
Yeah, it's probably a bad idea to scare your own kids, isn't it?
But sometimes it's the bestest idea ever.

Where's Sparky?!

Mmm...never heard of this one.
I love October....normally. This year, the month has started off quite nastily. Much ~ma to Nora, Kristin, SA and GC.
Yesterday was our first anniversary. Where did we spend it? At the animal hospital. Coco became violently ill and started throwing up, hyperventilating, and obsessively licking everything. Her belly was distended and painful to the touch. The vet thought it was GDV, but the x-rays showed no signs of blockage and the bloodwork ruled out pancreatitis. So we don't really know why she got sick, but it was bad enough that she needed IV fluids and anti-nausea and pain meds. The poor pooch was initially supposed to be in overnight, but when we went to visit her around 8 pm, she had improved dramatically, to the point where the doc had no problem releasing her. At 1 am, Coco decided it was time to play and proceeded to hunt down the squeeky toys and run around the house like a giant noisemaker.
She's obviously feeling better, but our checking account is a whole lot lighter. I'm just glad she's OK.
I'm just sending out the ma~~~~
