Oh, no, poor Matilda and JZ. I hope today is better. Much, much better. Poor things.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Poor bairn. She's got enough going on, what with the whole new big world and such, without having to have a tummyache on top of it.
Oooof. {{{{Matilda, JZ, & Hec}}}}
Happy Birthday, Nicole

David, bring her food. We sent my in-laws out for Indian the next day. After hospital food, it was heaven.
I got JZ food, but she wound up puking after coming down from the anesthesia. But yeah - I'm conscious that hospital food doesn't have to be the only option.
Also, suggest to JZ that, if they have an LC on staff, she meet with them--I keep forgetting to suggest this to every new mother, but I found it incredibly helpful, and it probably saved me from some of the nastier problems that can crop up in the early days of nursing, considering I was dealing with flattish nipples and a tiny baby mouth.
JZ's got some of the same problem, though she was able to get some colustrum up (which surprised in a "Hey! Look what my breast is doing!" kind of way) and Matilda was able to root around on the breast a bit. They do have a lot of breast feeding resources in-house there, that we'll take advantage of. La Leche League is right in the basement.
I expect Matilda will be hungrier and more interested in breast feeding now that her stomach is empty.
Matilda had to be taken to the NICU last night. She had bile in her stomach and had to have it pumped out. Apparently she swallowed some of her own mess in utero while doing her practice breathing before she was born.
Oh, David! Poor little girl! Fingers crossed hard that they hand her back to you ASAP, all right and tight.
Poor baby and mama. I hope they're feeling better this morning.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NICOLE!!!!
Oh, Ack. Poor Matilda, and poor JZ.
David, is she going to be up to calls today?

Resources are good. Especially after long labors, c-sections, and NICU adventures, when everything's all kerflooey haywire.
