She's terse. I can be terse. Once in flight school, I was laconic.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, Ack. Poor Matilda, and poor JZ.

David, is she going to be up to calls today?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

JZ's got some of the same problem, though she was able to get some colustrum up (which surprised in a "Hey! Look what my breast is doing!" kind of way) and Matilda was able to root around on the breast a bit. They do have a lot of breast feeding resources in-house there, that we'll take advantage of. La Leche League is right in the basement.

Resources are good. Especially after long labors, c-sections, and NICU adventures, when everything's all kerflooey haywire.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Matilda. Love. I am so sorry your little tum had to be suctioned out and starting life vomiting is no way to start at all. So when you're released from the NICU, stay well and no more icky tummy, ok? I'll buy you a tiara if you promise.

{{{David and JZ}}} NICU is No. Fun. and a scary thing, even if the problem is any easy fix.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

LC's are wonderful, wonderful people. Terri helped me so much and was a wonderful support. Especially after the NICU nurse told me that it was probably my fault Em was there.

t /mememe. I'm still a bit bitter about that.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Aaack!! Good vibes for Matilda and JZ!!

Happy birthday, Nicole!

Congratu-fuckin'-lations, NoiseDesign!

I think I need a month-long vacation.

Because books.

Poor Matilda! What an unpleasant welcome to the world. Sending all kinds of good vibes for tummy healthiness, and soothing vibes for JZ and Hec.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

ION, I roll my 4-eva at the MBTA (the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority) which is trying to increase courtesy on the T. Hey, you know what I bet will make people less cranky? Not the unexpected gift of $2 to Dunkin Donuts, but maybe ACTUALLY having trains that run on time, and often! Sheesh. Take the money you spent on "courtesy awards" and fix a couple train cars' A/C!

Oh wrody mcwrod wrod with wrod kprinkles on top.

Much tummy-ma to Matilda (and JZ!) - not a fun way to have the world greet you, and a scary way to greet the world.

Birthday happies to Nicole and congrats to ND!!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm guzzling down my coffee. Some odd impulse to rush back to the hospital. Wonder where that's coming from...

I've been remiss, so let me catch up.

Congratulations, ND! I've seen (heard?) your work and it's well deserved.

Happy birthday, Nicole, you gorgeous hussy you.

Yay for Suzi's mom!

Yay for Sean's S! Health-ma to you.

What an unpleasant welcome to the world.

Poor little critter's got tubes coming out of her hands and monitors plastered all over her and people shoving vacuums down her throat!

JZ said she was much comforted by lying skin to skin with her in the NICU. So I'm going to shower and hustle over to give my babygirl some TLC.

Punishingly Intricate

Matilda had to be taken to the NICU last night

aww poor little nugget and her people! Are you guys at USF? If so, I've spent time in that NICU (friends' baby had a traumatic birth suffice it to say he's a whip-smart, cutie head 5-year old now). The NICU staff there was awesome. Hope her problem is fixed toot sweet and she's back with her folks in no time.
