I'm trying to find the code or law or statute on the books in MA to send her, and am thinking about calling in an anonymous tip. So dangerous and way stupid and NO way to run an organization!

You can't lock people in a building! And anyway, what the hell for?! That is seriously fucked up, Nora.
That's really dangerous. Companies are so ... I don't know the word...sometimes.
One of the tenants at the SS job had an employee that fell on the escalators coming up from the retail area. She cut her knee prety bad and had to go to the hospital for stitches.
Her company called us wanting the security tapes of her fall just so they get the time stamp. Apparantly, they have a "rule" that once you clock in for a shift, you aren't allowed to leave FOR ANY REASON until your lunch break. They wanted the time stamp to fire her. We refused their request.
I told her if they didn't change that I was going to call the city/state and report them.
1) They HAVE to take off holidays but they HAVE to use their vacation time to do so.
How can that be legal? I don't think it is.
the building is on lock-down, and no one, not even employees can get in or out.
That can't be legal.

That can't be legal either. If they did fire her, I hope she sues them and takes them for a lot of money.
2) because of one of the programs they run is in the building the offices of this non-profit, for SEVERAL HOURS, the building is on lock-down,
Huh?
But yeah, lockdown? The fuck? Also, I'm betting that holiday thing is flat out illegal too.
I guess the org organizes a program that allows dads who beat their wives/partners to interact with their children, and that time together takes place at the house that serves also as the offices of the org. So, I assume to prevent these men from kidnapping their kids, or whatever, they are on lockdown.
Yeah, in a fire or other emergency, you really want to have many CHILDREN trapped in a building too.
I get that cost might be an issue, but surely some kind of bracelet (like the ones they put on parents/newborns in hospitals) would be smarter than locking everyone in the building.
I am just flabbergasted that ONE person for a MOMENT thought this was a good and feasible idea, let alone making it a program and process. OMG.

or, you know, a security guard.
