'The Message'

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

Oh, happiest of anniversaries to them. Scott's parents just had theirs, last November. Was there a big party, or a small family get-together?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

In between. The main party was extended family, but there were 17 of us there.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Wow. 50 years is a big one. Congratulations to your folks.

Thanks. I think they enjoyed the weekend a lot, even my dad.

What is even happening?

Heh!

Today would be my Nana's 100th birthday, and I'm missing her something fierce. We had a family reunion yesterday, and it went very well, but it made me miss all the ones we've lost.

Our wings are not tired.

50 years, very cool. Did you have a fun visit?

I've been married 31 years, but not to the same person. 16 to Brendon.

Hope you survived the visit with your sanity intact, Lee.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Lee, what were the highlights of the weekend?

We went out and saw our nephew's band play in a divey bar in irvine. Lots of fun. He was lead singer and GOOD. He's 20, so we were among the old folks there--it brought back many "hanging out in bars listening to loud music" memories. Ah, Shaman's in Putney, Vt, I knew you well.
