Zoe: Don't think it's a good spot, sir. She still has the advantage over us. Mal: Everyone always does. That's what makes us special.

Spike's Bitches 32: I think I'm sobering up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Just got an email that my dad is heading down to Florida or Alabama (depending on Ernesto's storm track) tomorrow morning. He volunteers for the Red Cross and is an Emergency Vehicle Operator, so he's always on call when hurricane season starts, but this is the first time he's been called since Katrina last year. Fingers crossed that the storm does little to no damage and that he's back home soon and safely.

Our wings are not tired.

It looks like a good chance of Ernesto falling apart. Poor Cubans, but the storm should be over the island for about 24 hours and that may trash the storm. Monroe county (Key West) is already under mandatory evacuation, but that is mostly because it takes so long to get people out. I expect most people are ignoring the order.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Well, I'm still sending -ma your way, Laura, and you can't stop me.

Oh, ouch, meara. That's always a bit of a gutpunch, even under the best circumstances.

Also, to hell with pictures of Fay's new apt. I think we need a Class!Cam and a Daniel!Cam.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Have fun at the game, Hec. What grade is Emmett going to be in this year?

5th grade. It's his last year of elementary school. Off to the Middle School next year, where he'll overlap with his godsister. (She's two years older.)

move out and draw fire

Fay, it sounds great! Does the school have a list of likely rentals, or how do you go about finding a place? How is the cattery there? The one in KL was wonderful.

I'm a little sad for folks whose summer is ending and who are going back to school. I don't know why, as I always looked forward to school. Maybe I'm just feeling time zipping by and my own mortality.

Or maybe I'm just in a depressed morbid mood. I just turned some goth music off because it was too positive.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Oh, that's nice that Emmett will have someone a couple years ahead of him to show him the ropes. I remember how confusing my first few days of junior high were. Will most of his current classmates be going to the same school, Hec?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Hi! I had to skip a lot, though I have it thread sucked for later. (Tucson airport has free internet, so I thought I'd make good use of it and catch up later)

How are people?

Now tagless for your comfort.

I've just realized I've given myself a caffeine withdrawal headache from drinking diet root beer all weekend. Other than that, fairly good.

Yay for free internet!

What is even happening?

The arcade at York Beach, ME (the Fun-o-Rama) now has internet. It's not free though, and I didn't not indulge, because I was too busy playing Skee-ball with Chris.

Where are you going, Lee?
